Meet the Team

Sonia Bailey
PMP / Program Manager - Ethical Hacking Team
Clark Atlanta University, Bachelors of Arts in Accounting, minor Marketing
Location:San Francisco, CA

Sonia Bailey is the Program Manager of Visa's Cybersecurity Ethical Hacking Team, a team which conducts manual penetration testing for applications, infrastructure and appliances connected to the Visa network. She joined Visa 12 years ago, and continues to work within the same great team. Currently, Sonia is co-chair of the Visa Black Cybersecurity Professional group (VBCP), which works in coordination with the Talent & Acquisition team in creating a more robust and diverse talent pipeline.

Everyone's journey to Visa is slightly different. Sonia received her Bachelors of Arts, Accounting minor in Marketing from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA and is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). The combining of diverse experiences, ultimately adds to the fabric and foundation of what makes life at Visa exceptional and honestly, fun. Sonia has enjoyed a diverse career of radically different industries prior to Cybersecurity; from Electrician to Policy Writer/Analyst. Sonia's strength is in process improvement, vendor management, program management and really enjoys working with newly acquired companies. Outside of Visa, she is an avid reader and writer. Sonia enjoys writing essays, short-story fiction, and hopes to someday write her first fantasy novel.


Tobi Plumpter
Associate Technical Product Analyst – Value Added Service Product Development (VASPD) Acceptance Solutions
Morgan State University, Information Systems Major
Location:Atlanta, GA

Tobi joined Visa as an Associate Technical Product Analyst on the VAS Acceptance Solutions team a year ago. He has worked primarily with CyberSource, a payment management platform. It provides a range of payment processing services and fraud management solutions for all forms of businesses operating online. Clarifying product requirements and iterating with scrum teams to give end users the best user experience possible. Outside of Product Management, Tobi is an active mentor in the Black Scholars program. He works closely with college students to help improve their professional development and navigate the early steps of their careers.


Shelby Rose Williams
Senior Product Manager - Product & Experience Design
Howard University, BBA in International Business with Concentration in Supply Chain Management
Location:New York, NY

Shelby came to Visa post-graduation in 2018, joining the rotational program currently known as the Visa Leadership Accelerator. Shelby rotated with the Brand Innovation Marketing, North America Deal, Innovation & Design, and Global Sponsorships teams. She also participated in the Mobilize for Growth Program, working on Visa Direct Product Development. Shelby currently sits on the Product & Experience Design (PxD) team within Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) based in New York. This team leverages human centered design to solve a variety of client problems via product strategy, ethnographic research, user experience design, facilitated client workshops, and more. Shelby’s most proud of her work on Visa’s pilot Inclusive Design engagement with Kinly in 2022. The PxD team and Visa Small Business Experts, uncovered opportunities to help Kinly, a fintech focused on serving the Black community, with strategy and recommendations for building out a small business practice, specifically focusing on how to help Black business owners overcome funding barriers.
