McCain/Palin Spur Hate Crime? - Just Sayin - October 12, 2008 (3342 hits)

Hey ya値l. I know Sunday afternoon is supposed to be relaxing, and ya値l know, for the most part, I try to keep it light. Not today. As always, I知 happy to see you, and I appreciate cha taking time out to read Just Sayin. Ya値l have become my family; I致e allowed you to see into some of the darkest corners of me. Usually I say something like I hope you enjoy today痴 Just Sayin. Not today. I hope today you池e moved to consider the peril America faces. Today I hope your throat closes and your eyes are blind with indignation. It is obvious today that America has again, defaulted on her promissory note insofar as her citizens are concerned. Instead of honoring her sacred constitutional obligations, America has given all but the most affluent of her people a bad check, which has come back marked "insufficient funds. One hundred forty five years and forty-five days later, we must face the tragic fact that America is still not free. Do those words ring familiar? They are Martin痴, ( from the speech where he went on to say, 的 have a dream. Not today. Today I call you to remember the consequences of a dream deferred, and act as if your life depends on it. Perhaps it does. Just Sayin

Up front, we want you to know it was our intention today to rattle all the rotting skeletons in the closets of the GOP ticket that Barack Obama has elected not to share. It still is. We dug long and deep. We even sought out Delores Williams, a popular anti-Obama Blogger, to insure the other side had some voice. We also planned three provocative articles on domestic violence, and Jessica Angelique, Emmanuel Brown and Ta'Nisha G. aka Big_Juisee have poured out their hearts. However, something happened Friday, in a small Texas town that cast its ugly color on our efforts.

Friday, a 16-year-old African American male was beaten, kicked and robbed in a church parking lot, with-in 15 minutes of closing time. His cries for help went unanswered. His attackers are described as three Caucasian males between the ages of 18 and 20. They all wore boots and t-shirts emblazoned with the Confederate flag. The young man, who wishes to remain anonymous, reports he was repeatedly called Ni**** and told he didn稚 belong in Texas or America. The fear, pain and disillusionment in his eyes are testament to childhood痴 cruel end. His mother says the avid skateboarder and roller blade enthusiast doesn稚 even want to go outside.

There has not been an incidence of a hate crime in this Texas town in at least 5 years, and the attack appears a direct outgrowth of the tactics employed by the McCain/Palin campaign. A campaign so rife with lies and incendiary fear mongering the candidate himself has had to back pedal. Friday, while the young man sat in a police station recounting his horror, John McCain was forced to read more

I knew this was going to happen!! It will only get worse before it gets better. Yes, I do agree that Texas is notorious for Hate Crimes. However, it has been pretty calm up until now. The Palin/McCain campaign is all that is needed to spur it all up again. It is so vital that we Blacks stand together to bring this hatefulness to a halt! Many are not concerned about our well-being but us.

Even though the words hatred, racism and segration are not used on a regular basis, they do exist. Hopefully, everyone can see what is going on and not allow the wool to be pulled over their eyes by fake sheep.

Am I now to believe that Rep. Lewis was talking about words used (ONLY)at a McCain-Palin rally or about his personal role in protesting against the words used to rationalize what these two are trying to say because we are in a new century and not in the 60s.for example,

I was not in Jena. la, but from experience, I know those ropes hanging from that tree was not a "joke".

I live in California and you already know how I am fighting against the truck draging death of a younge Black man by whites, not too long ago here in California. So, again what is the point about Texas as the state or having to have a McCain rally to find a relationship to what is/is not hate speech(in the Black community)?? Please give me a break, racism did not just come into play in Americaduring McCain's run for the 'White house'!.....come back...

And, thank you for your comment from the Real World that "I" live in,This is Bren.
