Job Requirements
General Summary Under frequent supervision, performs a variety of clerical and receptionist duties on the patient care unit to assist the care team members in transcribing and communicating physicians orders and to maintain the efficiency of the unit. Serves as a liaison between the patient and members of the patient care and support teams.

Reporting Relationships Reports to Manager of patient care unit to which assigned or designated Team Leader RN.
Qualifications - High School diploma/GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or health care facility with knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills required.
Working Conditions Works in a clean, fast paced environment, with frequent interruptions and exposure to multiple crisis situations. Potential for minimal exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials requiring the observance of Standard (Universal) Precautions and safe handling practices. Required to rotate shifts including weekends and holidays. This position has been classified as low or no exposure risk and does not require the completion of an annual testing but may require "just in time" testing if the need arises.
Physical Requirements Requires frequent walking and standing; requires sitting for approximately 60% of the time. Requires lifting and carrying supplies and equipment weighing up to 20 lbs. Requires bending, reaching for and grasping supplies, files, etc. Requires visual acuity to read patient charts, documents, computer terminal; requires manual dexterity to enter data and operate office equipment.
