General Summary
Under frequent supervision, the Jet Patient Care Technician is a multi-skilled individual who provides a wide variety of clinical tasks/procedures for the patient as a member of the patient care team. The Jet PCT provides any basic patient care duties and assists with tasks to assist with the progression of the patient's plan of care; performs phlebotomy. Patients served include infant through elderly adult. The Jet PCT will float to any unit assigned.

Reporting Relationships Reports to nurse for specific patient related duties. Overall supervision from manager of patient care unit.
Qualifications - Current CNA certification from MBON.
- Three years previous experience in a similar position, or three years experience as a PCTII, or a minimum of two (2) semesters of clinical experience in formal Nursing education with a certificate from MBON as CNA.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Satisfactory score on Written Screening Test and Competency Validation Assessment.
Working Conditions Works inside, in a clean well-lighted environment. May be exposed to frequent interruptions and multiple crisis situations. Potential for regular exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials, such as chemicals and cleaning agents, requiring the observation of Standard (Universal) Precautions and safe handling practices. May be physically and verbally abused by patients. Participates in temporary assignment measures. This position has been classified as medium exposure risk and requires the completion of an annual respirator mask fitting.
Physical Requirements Requires bending/stooping/crouching/kneeling approximately 50% of the time in the delivery of patient evaluation and treatment. Requires reaching/grasping/handling of small equipment and paperwork weighing up to 20 lb. Approximately 70% of the time in the delivery of patient care and performance of clerical duties. Requires standing and walking approximately 80% of the time; with occasional stair climbing. Requires lifting and positioning patients, weighing in excess of 100 lbs., with the assistance of others or ergonomic equipment and utilizing proper body mechanics approximately 50% of the time, in accordance with Safe Patient Lifting policy. Requires pushing/pulling equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. Approximately 20% of the time, requires carrying supplies/equipment weighing up to 20 lbs. approximately 50% of the time. Requires substantial movements/motions of the wrists, hands and/or fingers as in performing treatment procedures approximately 50% of the time. Requires good visual acuity to read patient records and equipment monitors; requires adequate ability to receive detailed information conveyed through oral communication in the process of evaluating and treating patients accurately, clearly, quickly approximately 80% of the time.
