Maximus is seeking a full-time Principal IT Mission Growth Engineer.
This position is hybrid/onsite and requires a TS/SCI with SAP eligibility security clearance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to Developers and Project Teams.
- Meet with Business Partners, Project Managers, and Vendor Partners to determine project scope and vision, set system goals, identify and resolve system issues, and lead prioritization of build items.
- Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications to Stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
- Identify and document business and functional requirements determined by Business Partners and Stakeholders.
- Define, elicit, and analyze existing and new system functions and processes.
- Make recommendations to meet the business goals and user needs.
- Frequently responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees across the organization within area of expertise.
Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support daily meetings with Home Office, DoW R&D and Federal Operations Teams.
- Engage with clients and explain Maximus solutions.
- Collaborate with HO Functional Areas such as HR, Finance, Legal, Security, Marketing, Technology and Business Growth.
- Support industry response papers for RFI, RFP or similar.
- Design and execute rapid prototyping for solutions.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 10+ years of relevant professional experience required.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors, master’s degree or equivalent years of experience with IT Systems Engineering lieu of degree.
- No Degree with 16 Years Experience Industry/Gov.
- 4 Year Degree with 8 Years Experience Industry/Gov.
- 6 Year Degree with 12 Years Experience Industry/Gov.
- Development & Security Operations.
- Scripting, Coding, Debugging Experience.
- Direct support of Proposal resulting in >=$50M or $10M annual.
- Minimum of 4 years working in uniform or as civilian with DoW deployable units.
- A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on technical experience including full lifecycle systems development and operations in a production environment.
- Demonstrated experience operating as a customer-facing or field-deployed engineer.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.
- Experience with DoW C2 Systems such as JADOCS, AFATDS, TAK.
- Experience with Cross Domain Solutions and Classified Cloud Regions w/ ECMA, Overmatch, CloudONE, or similar.
- TS/SCI with SAP eligibility.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting or operating within DoW programs or highly regulated federal environments.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, DISA STIGs, and government security frameworks (i.e. RMF).
- Experience launching and maintaining solutions in AWS Marketplace or similar commercial software marketplaces.
- Experience with DevOps toolchains such as Terraform, Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitOps.
- Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and practices (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, LangChain, ChatGPT Codex, n8n, etc).
- Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to engineering culture-building within high-performance teams.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI with SAP eligibility security clearance.
- Willingness and ability to support field engagements and travel to mission sites as needed.
