Job Description
The University of Notre Dame is seeking an experienced, strategic, and relationship-driven Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant to help shape talent for our University Relations division.

This is a unique dual-reporting role aligned to both University Relations (UR) and Notre Dame Human Resources (NDHR), designed to ensure the division attracts and hires exceptional, mission-aligned professionals who will advance Notre Dame's global impact.

While a significant focus of this role will be recruiting front-line fundraising leaders, including Regional Directors of Development and Gift Planning Officers, this individual will also support recruitment across the full University Relations division, helping to build high-performing teams in engagement, philanthropy, communications, operations, and strategy.

This position calls for a talent professional with a proven ability to identify top talent, build trusted relationships, and influence at all levels, from candidates to senior leaders, while continuously strengthening recruiting strategies, processes, and practices.

What You'll Do

Lead Division-Wide Talent Strategy
  •  Serve as a strategic talent advisor to University Relations leaders, partnering to define search strategies, role scope, and success profiles.
  •  Develop and execute innovative recruitment strategies across fundraising and other professional roles within University Relations.
  • Build sustainable talent pipelines to meet both immediate and future hiring needs.
  • Establish and expand a national recruiting network across advancement and related professional communities.
  • Ensure hiring practices align with the mission, values, and long-term talent strategy of the University.
  • Draft and refine job descriptions to position opportunities competitively in the market.
  • Lead sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate assessment efforts.
  • Guide hiring leaders through candidate evaluation, selection, and decision-making.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with candidates and stakeholders throughout the search process.
  • Manage 20+ complex professional searches annually

Proactive Talent Engagement
  • Identify and cultivate high-potential candidates before roles formally open.
  • Build relationships with internal and external talent to understand career aspirations and align candidates with future opportunities.
  • Introduce strong prospective candidates to hiring leaders to support workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Share market insights and candidate intelligence to strengthen hiring outcomes across the division.
     

People & Process
  • Advise leaders on talent strategy, market conditions, and hiring best practices.
  • Continuously assess and improve recruiting processes to enhance efficiency, equity, and candidate experience.
  • Partner across University Relations and central HR to deliver seamless, high-quality recruiting support.

 

Qualifications
  • Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (4 years)
  • Experience: 5 to 6 years
  • Experience in talent acquisition and/or human resources.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
