Practice Coordinator
Job Requirements
Under moderate supervision by the Manager, the Practice Coordinator is responsible for performing multiple day-to-day practice operations to include clerical, supply ordering, answering phones,patient scheduling and surgical posting. Maintains filing system in organized manner. Answers phone promptly in a positive professional manner. Responds to voice mail and e-mail promptly. Demonstrates ability to be flexible, adjusting to changes necessary for the efficient operation of the department. Utilizes appropriate customer relation skills when interacting with patients, family members, physicians, hospital and other health system staff, visitors, etc. to ensure all customers are treated with respect and dignity. Ability to work effectively as a team member, demonstrating commitment to group goals. Demonstrate effective communication methods and skills, using line authority appropriately. Prioritizes work responsibilities and manages multiple demands. Maintain confidentiality of all patient, employee and hospital information Attends hospital and departmental meetings as required or assigned. Schedule patient appointments. Make confirmation appointment calls to the patients the day prior to the scheduled appointment. Answer patients questions as appropriate or locate the proper resource person to talk to the patient to have their questions properly answered. Prepare patients charts for the following day.
Work Experience
HS diploma/GED required. Bachelors degree in nursing, health care administration or business administration preferred. Three years health care experience required. Knowledge of practice operations, physician billing, collections and practice development preferred. Specific experience within applicable practice specialty environment strongly preferred.
