1 in 4 women will experience violence in her lifetime. 11 percent of all violence between 1998-2002 was involving family. He will promote partnerships to train staff in domestic violence and develop best practices prevention. He will strengthen domestic violence laws and also fight gender violence abroad.
People with Disabilities: He believes the United States should lead the world in empowering persons with disabilities to take full advantage of their talents, and become independent,integrated members of society.
He will make the U.S. a signatory to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilites and restore the intent of the Americnas with Disabilities Act, increase funding for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act(IDEA) ,ensure that all states have comprehensive new-born screening programs, increase fedral funding for AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER initiatives to $1 billion per year, increase the employment rate of Americans with disabilities and support independent community living. Thereby renewing America's leadership.
